Rachel Simpson
My name is Rachel Simpson and I have worked at Hardwick for 19 years. Over the years I have been lucky enough to work in every year group and also as a 1.1. Early Years is my favourite year group, and I love being able to support the children in reaching their goals. I have two grown up daughters and two grandsons who I spent lots of time with. I really enjoy reading books at home, and sharing stories with children is something I love to do.
Lily Hubbard
My name is Lily Hubbard and I have worked in early years for two years. My favourite part of the job is watching the children learn and grow. I love reading and drawing with the children. Watching and supporting the children develop their creative skills is something I am passionate about. In my spare time I love to read books.
Mia Armstrong
Claire Clark
My name is Claire Clark and I have worked in early years for 22 years. I love working with and supporting the children. I enjoy helping them to build confidence, extending their learning opportunities and developing their knowledge and understanding. I am a mother to three and have a dog that loves muddy walks, two rabbits and a goldfish. I enjoy going on holiday, reading and spending time with my family and friends.
Key Person
Before your child starts at our Nursery we will come and visit you at home. This helps us get to know your child in the comfort of their own home and we will ask you to complete an "All About Me" form to support this.
Once your child starts with us, they will be allocated a member of staff who will be their ‘Key Person’. All our Nursery staff will get to know your child well, but the Key Person’s role is to help your child settle and be someone they can relate to and rely on when they are with us. The Key Person will identify how your child learns through their play and be responsible for ensuring that the care your little one receives meets their individual needs. The Key Person will be your first point of contact for any questions you might have.
We will inform you of your child’s Key Person once they have been at Nursery for a few weeks. This gives us the opportunity to get to know your child and identify who the most appropriate member of staff is for your child. This is based on the relationship that your child has with the different team members and any additional needs or interests.
At Hardwick Primary School Nursery we use an online system called Class Dojo to make regular observations of your child - we write down what they say and do and take lots of photos to keep you updated with how they are getting on. Parents can access this system and add to the journal with photos from home.
