Home School Link Worker

We are Nicky Andrews and Gemma Everson and we are the Home School Link Workers and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads at both Cherry Fields Primary School and Hardwick Primary School. The main purpose of our role is to work with families, school children and school, providing support and guidance as well as signposting to local and national organisations in times of stress and change. As part of my role I am able to support families by:

• Leading on Early Help Assessments and Team Around the Family meetings
• Offering advice and guidance with parenting skills and delivering parent nurture groups
• Offering both long and short-term support in promoting positive family relationships
• Accessing mental health support
• Supporting with attendance
• Supporting families to understand SEND issues
• Accessing additional support where necessary
• Referring to external services such as CAMHS, HomeStart, School Health Nurse Team
